You've probably been told you're a priority
Here's what it usually looks like instead. Your broker sends a renewal three weeks before it's effective — a spreadsheet, a percentage increase, and a signature line. There's no strategy, because there was no time to build one. Open enrollment lands entirely on your desk. Employees bring you questions about deductibles and networks that you have no way to answer, and your broker isn't there to take them.
Then it goes quiet until next year.
That's not a service failure. At your size, that's the industry default. Small agencies can't keep up with the compliance load. Large brokerages assign you to a service queue. Either way, nobody is actively watching your account between renewals.
We started Total Insurance Agency because that's a solvable problem, and almost nobody was solving it.

What we place

When a group plan isn't the right answer
Traditional group plans don't fit every culture or budget. We specialize in ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement) setup, which allows you to reimburse employees for their own chosen plans with pre-tax dollars. We'll honestly say whether ICHRA fits your specific team or if a traditional group plan remains the better path.

The year, not the renewal
120 days out. We start the renewal conversation before the numbers arrive, not after. You get time to consider alternatives instead of reacting to a deadline.
Renewal. We bring you options with the tradeoffs explained in plain English — what changes for your employees, what changes for your budget, and what we'd do in your position.
Open enrollment. We run it. Employee meetings, enrollment support, and the questions that would otherwise come to you.
The other ten months. Claim problems, ID cards, a new hire who doesn't understand their options, a carrier who won't return a call. That's our job, not yours.
Your HR person shouldn't have to be a benefits department
Most companies your size don't have a benefits team. They have one person doing HR alongside payroll, hiring, and half a dozen other things.
So we take the employee-facing work. Your employees can contact us directly with questions about their coverage, their claims, and their ID cards. When someone's claim is denied, we're the ones on the phone with the carrier.
You get one named person here — not a service team, not a ticket queue. The same person who set your plan up is the person who answers when something goes wrong.
Enrollment that isn't paper

We provide Employee Navigator as part of the relationship. Employees enroll online, elections feed to the carriers electronically, and new hires and terminations are handled in one place instead of across a stack of carrier portals.
For payroll, we work in isolved, so benefit elections and deductions connect to the payroll system instead of being keyed in twice. Fewer errors, and no reconciliation project every month.
For a company your size, licensing benefits administration on your own is a real line item. It's included in working with us.
We tell you what's coming before it arrives
Growing companies cross thresholds that change their obligations, and most find out afterward. The one that matters most is 50 full-time equivalent employees, where ACA employer mandate and reporting requirements begin.
We track your headcount and tell you a year ahead of the line, not the quarter after you've crossed it.
Let's look at your current plan
A first conversation is a review of what you have now and where the gaps are. No obligation, and no pressure to move before your renewal makes sense.
